Description of the granted funding
Exploiting recent advances in ultrafast photonics, nonlinear optics, coherence control, and real-time measurement techniques, ULTIMATE aims at filling an important gap in current photonics technologies by demonstrating a new approach to ultrafast, high-resolution imaging in the mid-infrared. The concepts introduced in ULTIMATE are expected to lead to important progress in many areas of applied science, with potential breakthroughs for many applications areas ranging from medical diagnostics, to environmental monitoring, and food industry.
