Accessibility statement

This is an accessibility statement for the online service and its Researcher's Profile Tool. The accessibility requirements for the online service are based on the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019). This accessibility statement was drafted on 24 May 2023.

Accessibility status of the online service

Based on self-assessment, the online service meets WCAG 2.1 AA critical accessibility requirements.

Inaccessible content in the online service

Inaccessible content:

The statistical content in the "Figures on science and research” section is inaccessible to screen reader users.

Statistics are produced by a third-party report tool that does not provide statistical content in text format.

Location: research portal: Figures on science and research. Problem: Keyboard trap in statistics generated by a third-party report tool.

Inaccessible content:

The instructions for statistical content in the "Figures on Science and Research" section of the portal, which appear when the cursor hovers over them do not fully comply with the accessibility requirements. The cursor cannot be hovered over the dynamic instruction; instead the text will disappear when the cursor moves outside the target element.

Inaccessible content:

Improvements in screen reader and keyboard usage i.a. in search functionality and a few other component types.

Accessibility and its improvement are taken into account as a natural part of application design and development work.

Next steps for improving the accessibility in the online service will be to enrichen the HTML-components ARIA-support, for example when filtering the search results.
