Description of the granted funding
CELL2EAT project examines the use of plant cell cultures as a food source. In particular, the aim is to study the bioavailability and digestion of proteins in digestive conditions (upper and large intestine) by using in vitro models and in vivo animal studies. Additionally, the acceptable daily intake values of plant cells cultures will be performed by toxicity studies with animals.
