Organizing meaningful collaborative research
Description of the granted funding
The project focuses on collaborative research between professional researchers and citizens from the organizational and management perspectives. The current practical needs and positive attitudes do not always lead to meaningful co-research and impactful findings. With various qualitative data, we will analyze the starting points, expectations, and experiences of conducting co-research with patients in the health sector in Finland and Canada, two countries experiencing different stages of adoption of co-research with patients: early stage in Finland and more consolidated in Canada. The project provides new knowledge on how the impact of co-research can be improved by adopting more democratic practices of co-organizing, co-managing and co-leading in collaborative research.
