Description of the granted funding
The project examines the literary history in nineteenth century Finland, and how it can be challenged with the new digital methods and resources. The project aims to renew the current understanding of the development of literature in nineteenth century Finland by creating and analyzing the largest focused catalogue and digitized nineteenth century texts available to from the domestic memory organizations, and creating a dedicated data science framework to advance bibliographic research. In addition to new understanding, this will create openly available digital methods and data resources that will serve not only research but also the general public.
