Policy value amidst hybridity (BRIDPOL)

Description of the granted funding

Combating climate change, alleviating social exclusion, or developing sustainable and democratic cities has become a highly collaborative exercise between public policies, private business and civic activities. However, a major knowledge gap exists in the inadequate understanding of the impacts of hybridity on how different forms of value are collaboratively created in the setting of societal policies. BRIDPOL project analyzes hybridity, i.e. interplay between the public, private, and civic actions and activities in the policy-making of societies that aim to find solutions to pressing societal problems. We concentrate on the impacts of hybridity and value-creation mechanisms in three policy contexts: algorithmic governance, business platforms and urban sustainability. Our project increases scientific impacts of policy research by more closely integrating research streams of policy studies, hybrid governance and value creation.
