Action and Intersubjectivity in the Digital Age (AIDA)
Description of the granted funding
Digital technologies offer new environments for interaction and collaboration. They have transformed, not least because of COVID-19, interactions in the domains of work, education, and everyday life. They can support interaction but sometimes also disrupt and make it difficult. We do not know how and why interaction is or is not successful around them. Nor do we understand how they influence interaction. AIDA studies real-time interaction in digitally mediated and virtual environments. It shows how people interact with, around and inside digital technologies and provides knowledge about how and why social action may be difficult in digital and remote interactions. It produces findings that support the development of intuitive, trustworthy, and safe digital solutions. The research in AIDA is important in post-COVID 19 societies where digital interactions are more commonplace than ever. AIDA plays an important role in shaping the digital transition and digital futures in Europe.
