PLEDGE: Personalized online Learning on the Edge in IoT/CPS
Description of the granted funding
This research project aims to establish a robust theoretical foundation and develop cutting-edge algorithms for secure and personalized online federated learning with multiple intelligent autonomous agents over wireless networks. It actively addresses the challenges often overlooked by existing distributed algorithms, including data scarcity in personalized learning, streaming and intermittent data, wireless communication constraints, and resource-constrained nodes. Furthermore, the project drives new developments at the intersection of machine learning and wireless networks, pushing the boundaries of innovation in these fields. Additionally, this project will significantly enhance our educational offerings by introducing new curriculum materials and providing research opportunities for undergraduate students to actively engage in this exciting research endeavor.
