The research aims to create a holistic, integrated digital twin model for the construction of buildings, which can be used to model, simulate, compare, and evaluate the performance of processes. The digital twin of processes is made possible by recent advances in technologies enabling situational awareness of the state of the construction process. In this project, we will create a realistic simulation model of the construction process and connect it to an automated sensing system of construction status to form the digital twin. Achieving the goals of the project will lead to measurable impacts in construction practices resulting in increased productivity, decreased project durations and decreased waste in the construction process.
