Transport, metastability, and neuromorphic applications in quantum networks
Description of the granted funding
A major challenge at the core of quantum technologies is how to preserve quantum mechanical coherence as the size of a device is scaled up. The goal of QNet is to provide unconventional concepts and methods for manipulating quantum information; fault-tolerant performance is assisted or even boosted by noise and dissipation. A specific focus of the project is on applications to quantum associative memories and quantum reservoir computing. The proof-of-principle concepts will be tested on parallel state-of-the-art experimental platforms. QNet will provide a toolbox of concepts and paradigms, paving the way to the next generation of quantum technologies.
