Synergic and Context-aware Protocols for Energy-neutral IoT Devices (ECO-LITE)

Description of the granted funding

ECO-LITE is a cutting-edge project focused on revolutionizing the Internet of Things (IoT) by developing protocol frameworks for supporting self-sustaining devices that don't need battery changes or recharging. These devices, called energy-neutral devices (ENDs), are designed to be low-cost/power, harvesting power from their surroundings to function. ECO-LITE's goal is to develop new, smart ways for ENDs to sense, act, communicate, and compute, all based on their characteristics, immediate environment, and needs. This involves understanding how ENDs interact with their surroundings, advancing energy-harvesting/saving technologies, and integrating context awareness into their operation protocol. The expected outcomes are groundbreaking frameworks and strategies that will make IoT devices smarter, more efficient, and environmentally friendly. ECO-LITE aims to inspire new scientific discoveries and drive innovation in the IoT industry, leading to more sustainable technology solutions.
