The Future of Democracy (DEMOC) program is a strategically important research topic because it aims to improve the basic premises of democracy in society. As the program director, my job is to ensure that the projects funded in the program create significant social impact and the insights that they create reach both the ordinary citizens and the power holders. The program director works together with the funded projects facilitating the interaction between them and diverse stakeholders. Based on the research conducted in the projects, the program director also seeks to improve the social and scientific impact of the entire program. The program director works in close contact with the other program directors, the STN and various social, political, cultural and economic actors enabling the program to meet its goals. My main aim for this period includes strengthening the connections between diverse actors on local, national and international levels.
