DigiTala in action (DTA)

The DigiTala project (2019-2023), funded by the Academy of Finland, developed a Moodle tool for automatic speaking assessment for high school students studying Finnish and Swedish. The Digitala in action -project (2025-2026), which will continue the previous project, aims to develop the tool into a mobile application that will serve a new purpose of assessment: integration training and the language test at the end of the training. At the same time, the usability of the tool and the reliability of the assessments will be improved, and speaking tasks and assessment criteria will be developed to suit the needs of those taking part in integration training. Experiences of using the prototype will be collected from teachers and students during and at the end of integration training. The project will involve collaboration with the Finnish National Agency for Education and other parties.
