Cloud-based Intelligent and Robust Power Grid Control Algorithms
Description of the granted funding
The hypothesis is that when the number of power electronic units is increasing and the inertia is reduced more and more, new approach to control the network is needed. This control will utilize fast communication such as 5G but will also be able to maintain normal operation without communication. In this control approach involvement of every component connected to the grid is assumed. Thereby moving from one-sided control approach to co-operative control approach. In this project the control solutions for zero inertia network is studied and novel control algorithms are derived that enable the operation and application of inertialess grids.
