Quantum information in quantum fields and gravity
Description of the granted funding
The interface between quantum information, quantum field theory, and gravity is a fertile area for breakthrough results in fundamental questions about the nature of quantum matter and spacetime. The project is rooted in three big questions: 1) How is quantum information encrypted in quantum matter? 2) Are black holes gigantic quantum processors?, and 3) Is gravity a fundamental force, or does it emerge from some underlying more fundamental system? The project addresses the three questions in three work packages: 1) Quantum information encrypted in quantum fields, 2) Detection of quantum states of quantum fields, and 3) Quantum information geometry and complexity of quantum fields and gravity.
