Combating glioblastoma with vitamin B3-based radiotheranostics
Description of the granted funding
Brain cancers are deadly and difficult to treat. Many complicated drugs have been tested but failed. Surprisingly, vitamin B3 has recently shown promise for treating brain cancers, but no one knows how it exactly works. Our project is to add a label on vitamin B3 to track its behavior in the body, and the labeled vitamin B3 will be used for brain cancer diagnosis and radiotherapy. Vitamin B3 is found in our daily food; our results will advise how to prevent and treat brain tumors with food or food supplements.
