Regulators of Human Regulatory T Cells
Description of the granted funding
Regulatory T cells (Tregs) normally maintain immune balance, preventing harmful inflammation. In cancer, tumors exploit Tregs to suppress the body's anti-tumor response. We identified two new molecules that are upregulated in Tregs and influence their function. We will use advanced genomic and imaging technologies to define how these molecules regulate Treg function and study their potential as therapeutic targets.
