Teachers and Digital Environments: Interrelations Between Teachers' Motivation, Wellbeing and Children's Learning
Description of the granted funding
The proposed 4-year Academy Project investigates links between teachers' beliefs and practices regarding digital environments, their psychological functioning (motivation and wellbeing) and children's learning (achievement and motivation). The project focuses on the set of intervention studies where elementary and middle school students are training their skills on a digital platform. We will analyze digital trace data, intensive longitudinal data, and data from pre- and post-tests and questionnaires. This will help us identify the mechanisms (moderation and mediation) by which teachers' beliefs and practices concerning digital environments, along with their motivation and wellbeing, promote optimal learning outcomes in children. In practical terms, these results are expected to provide practical guidelines and digital tools for educators and policymakers concerned with learning and motivation of school children and the effectiveness of digital environments in the learning process.
