Cultivating transformative data agency in and through teacher education

Description of the granted funding

TDATE-project develops theoretical and pedagogical foundations for cultivating AI literacies and transformative data agency in teacher education. Moving beyond the mere use of AI tools in education, the project aims to develop 1) new theoretical insights into transformative data agency, 2) conceptual tools and pedagogical models for community-based future-making, and 3) methodological solutions for co-creating and tracing the development of inclusive AI education that engages participants as co-designers and makers of educational change. The project achieves this by proceeding from analysing the status quo, to co-design of pedagogical innovations and community practices, to fostering collective action and systemic change. The project strengthens informed citizenship and equity in education by supporting teachers to understand and critique the social, political, environmental and ethical implications of AI, and to take collective action towards a more just and inclusive AI education.
