Unstained whole slide images of differentially processed anterior prostate tissue

Unstained whole slide images of differentially processed anterior prostate tissue

Description

Whole slide images of differentially processed mouse anterior prostate tissue for histology. The dataset consists of altogether 20 whole slide images of 1) unstained histological tissue sections and 2) sections stained with hematoxylin and eosin (HE) for reference. Images represent different section thicknesses and imaged after different processing steps either with paraffin, paraffin removed or mounted and coverslipped. The samples are used for studying the feasibility of deep learning-based virtual staining as a replacement for chemical HE staining for histological inspection. Imaging was performed using Thunder Imager 3D Tissue slide scanner (Leica Microsystems, Wetzlar, Germany) equipped with DMC2900 camera and HC PL APO 40x/0.95 DRY objective. WSIs were stitched together with LAS X (ver 3.7.4., Leica Microsystems). The pixel size of the acquired WSIs was 0.353 µm and the images were stored as tiff-files. Also jp2 versions are provided.
