EVA Survey on Finnish Values and Attitudes 2004
Description
The survey charted Finnish attitudes and values. Respondents were presented with a series of attitudinal statements covering political parties, occupational life, market economy, economic growth, social welfare, environmental issues, immigration, emigration and internal migration, foreigners, internationalism, Finland's NATO membership, taxation, democracy and Finnish political life. Respondents were asked about entrepreneurship and what kind of characteristics business and political leaders should have. Respondents' views on the importance of different factors of happiness were studied. They were asked how happy they are and what their financial circumstances are. Opinions on Finland's competitiveness in international markets, EU membership, the replacement of Finnish Mark with Euro and EU's enlargement to the Baltic States and Eastern Europe were queried on. Background variables included respondent's gender, age, size of municipality, type of residential area, region of residence, occupational group, trade union membership, political party preference, basic and vocational education, employment sector and self-designated social class.
