Metal laser-based Powder Bed Fusion process development using Optical Tomography

Description

This data was collected from EOS Optical Tomography to help create new parameter set for Powder Bed Fusion process. The hypothesis was that evaluating average grey values and fluctuations can parameters that produce optimal density and quality be chosen instead of utilizing material / micrograph analysis. Material used was 316L with layer thickness 40um, laser power was varied 195-215-235-255-275W and scan speed 1000-900-830-765mm/s forming four different combinations of VED 54-60-71-76 J/mm3. Data for eleven samples are listed. Also Archimedes principle analysis is included.
