Phenotyping and metabolite profiling of poty-potexviral synergism in Nicotiana benthamiana

Description

This set contains plant phenotyping and metabolite profiling data associated with the article "Effects of Poty-Potexvirus Synergism on Growth, Photosynthesis and Metabolite Status of Nicotiana benthamiana" by Pollari, M., Sipari, N., Poque, S., Himanen, K., & Mäkinen, K. (2022) (Viruses, 15(1), 121. https://doi.org/10.3390/v15010121). Mixed infections of potato virus A (PVA), a potyvirus, and potato virus X (PVX), a potexvirus cause severe symptoms due to the phenomenon of viral synergism. In this study we compared the effects of single and mixed infections on plant growth, photosynthesis, morphology, stress status and specialized metabolites. The dataset contains image-based phenotyping data from healthy control plants, single PVA and PVX infections and the mixed PVA+PVX infection. Phenotyping was performed under controlled conditions at the National Plant Phenotyping Infrastructure at the University of Helsinki (https://www.helsinki.fi/en/infrastructures/national-plant-phenotyping/national-plant-phenotyping-infrastructure-nappi). Included data: RGB images of the test plants and associated morphological analysis Infrared (IR) images of the plants and associated leaf surface temperatures Chlorophyll fluorescence images and photosynthetic parameters based on the chlorophyll fluorescence UPLC-based metabolite profiles
