LaVirE

LaVirE - Post-treatment lifestyle habits and treatment responses to pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence surgeries

Description

LaVirE is an observational questionnaire-based study that investigates the treatment response and postoperative pelvic floor symptoms of women in Central Finland who have undergone surgery for urinary incontinence or gynecological prolapse. Women who had received the aforementioned surgical treatment at the Central Finland Central Hospital (current name Hospital Nova) 1–5 years before the start of the study and who had been between 45 and 70 years old at the time of surgery were invited to the study. In addition to treatment response and pelvic floor symptomology, LaVirE investigates whether women's current pelvic floor symptoms are connected to their health behavior including physical activity, eating behaviour, or their mental well-being. In total, 541 people met the inclusion criteria. About 43% of them participated in the study by returning questionnaires and research consent. Data has been pseudonymized and interested parties can contact researchers. Questionnaire's questions are attached to this metadata-publication.
