Permanent transects for monitoring snowbed species and habitats in Finland

Description

Network of permanent transect was established in 2021 and 2022 to enable monitoring snowbed vegetation in Finland. Network comprizes of 24 study sites in Utsjoki, Pallas fells, Enontekiö and Saariselkä. Transects are 15 to 50 m long and vegetation has been studied from eight 80 x 80 cm plots that are placed at even distances along each transect. This datasets includes a matrix with data on location and environmental parameters from study sites and pictures taken from plots and transects to ensure relocating them. Explanation for parameters given in the matrix and methods for collecting data are given in an separate explanation file.
