Carbon and nutrient dynamics in peatland forests

Description

The experiment aims to detect the impacts of tree stand cuttings on carbon and nutrient dynamics. Pools of C and nutrients before and 3, 5, and 10 years after cutting are measured in the tree stand, other vegetation, and surface peat soil. Also CO2, methane, and N2O fluxes, decomposition rates of various kinds of litter,as well as environmental factors such as PAR, air and soil T, precipitation, and soil moisture are monitored to enable modeling of carbon and nutrient balance.
