Subset of cosmic noise absorption data from Finnish Riometer Chain over 5
Description
Subset of the 1 minute cosmic noise absorption data from the Finnish Riometer Chain operated by Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory, University of Oulu from requested events covering 10-12 June 2014, 31 July 2014, 24 Aug 2014, 3 Sep 2014 and 26 Oct 2014. The used quiet day curve for absorption determination is visually inspected in sidereal time plots.
The files are ASCII files having 1440 minute values starting from 00:00UT. The station code is in filename suffix of file name and the date is given in name file. The riometer instruments are La Jolla narrowband riometers in different frequencies. ABI, S05 (SOD), OUL operated in 30.0MHz, IVA at 29.9 MHz, JYV and ROV at 32.4MHz and S07 (SOD) at 51.4MHz. The used riometer receiver antenna type was dual parallel half-wavelength dipole forming a 60 degree beam pointing to zenith.
The data of Abisko station of the subset is used in the refereed paper by Sinha S, Vichare G and Sinha AK (2024): Hemispheric comparison of solar flare associated cosmic noise absorption (SCNA) from high latitude stations: Maitri (70.75°S, 11.75°E) and Abisko (68.4°N, 18.9°E).
