Workshop material on desirable futures in farming
Description
### How the material was produced
The material consists of desirable futures images for farming produced in two futures workshops. The workshops were organized in autumn 2017 in the project of Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) called "Climate-wise solutions for the countryside (VILMA)”, and they are part of a wider doctoral research on futures thinking in climate-wise farming. Workshop participants were farmers and other stakeholders of the agricultural sector such as advisors, researchers, project managers and students.
The workshops were organized one week apart in Mustiala and Tuorla, with different participants in each. For discussing and envisioning desirable futures, participants were divided into smaller groups. In the Mustiala workshop, participants explored desirable futures from the perspective of a farmer's everyday life, while in Tuorla, the groups imagined ideal farms. The material includes photos of the original groupworks as well as their transcriptions.

### Reference Identifiers
Desirable futures images has been assigned with a reference identifier indicating in which futures workshop the groupwork was created (M = workshop held in Mustiala / T = workshop held in Tuorla). The letter “d” indicates desirable futures image, in separation to other types of data in the research. In addition, the identifier has a group number and the date of the workshop.
