JYFL-ACCLAB-ISG006 Characterization of camera and PMT light sensors of high-resolution spectrometer POSSU for plasma transient studies

Description

This experimental campaign characterized the temporal behaviour of a camera and a photomultiplier tube (PMT), used as light sensors in a high-resolution Fastie-Ebert type spectrometer (POSSU) for electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) ion source plasma research. The transient response of the sensors was measured with pulsed helium spectrum tube. After this the sensors were used to measure emission profile transients of low (Ar+) and high (Ar9+) charge state ions from pulsed argon plasma produced with JYFL 14 GHz ECR ion source. This data package contains RAW optical data measured with the camera and PMT, emission line profiles extracted from the RAW data, measured Ar9+ ion beam current transients, charge state distributions, and optical emission spectra. The package also contains rudimentary tools for opening the provided data using python. The experimental work was performed between November 2024 and January 2025.
