Interviews with Finnish historians

Description

A set of 26 interviews with Finnish historians. Participants included historians from several universities as well as several faculties, departments, and sub-disciplines. Participants included (emeriti) professors, post-docs, senior lecturers, and university teachers, among others. The lengths of interviews ranged from approx. 45 minutes to nearly three hours. Topics of the semi-structured interviews included: developing interest for history, learning in history, changing conceptions of history, "what is history", ongoing research projcets and the everyday work related to them, expertise in history, as well as the aims, values, and ideals of historical research and writing.
