The dataset consists of texts written by social workers in political positions of trust on their experiences of combining their expertise in social work with politics and local decision-making. In the writing invitation, the participants were asked to discuss, for instance, their experiences of how being a social work professional affected their political decision-making and how they navigated their simultaneous careers in social work and in local politics. Additionally, the participants were asked to describe their work tasks in both social work and as elected officials. Background information included, among others, the participant's gender and age. Additionally, information on the participant's work history and education was collected. The data were collected in two parts, because too few responses were received during the first data collection period. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
