Promoting Health and Well-being of Children, Young People and their Families in Seinäjoki: Survey 2020

Description

The survey charted the promotion of health and well-being of children, young people and their families in various sectors of the city of Seinäjoki. The survey was conducted as part of the 'Healthy Kids of Seinäjoki development platform as a regional strength and source of business growth' project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Council of Tampere Region. The respondents worked in various sectors in the city organisation, such as culture and well-being, vitality and competitiveness, social and health services, and urban environment. First, the respondents were asked which age group they thought was the target group for the promotion of health and well-being of children and young people (e.g. 0-12-year-olds, 0-18-year-olds or 0-29-year-olds). The respondents' views on various matters relating to the city's promotion of health and well-being of children, young people and their families were examined with questions on, for example, whether they thought the promotion was meaningful, well organised and defined, and had been successful so far. Questions also charted the respondents' opinions on whether there were enough resources allocated for the promotion, how the promotion was generally handled in their own sector, and whether they personally had the skills or opportunities to develop the necessary skills to successfully support the health and well-being of children, young people and their families. Next, the respondents were asked about multi-sectoral cooperation in promoting the health and well-being of children, young people and their families in Seinäjoki. Questions surveyed, among other topics, how much their own work tasks involved cooperating with other sectors of the city to promote the health and well-being of the target group, which sectors they had cooperated with, and whether they ever cooperated with sectors or organisations outside the city of Seinäjoki organisation. Finally, the respondents were asked whether they had heard of the Healthy Kids of Seinäjoki model before the survey. Background variables included the respondent's sector/industry of employment and position in the city of Seinäjoki organisation.
