The grant is targeted for doctoral thesis or postdoctoral researchers and research groups. To be applicable for a grant, the study must be in line with the goals and values of Rehabilitation Foundation Peurunka and meet current research and development needs. Grants are awarded to scientific research projects that are related to the promotion of well-being and support the core values the Foundation’s activities are built upon: the promotion of diverse and holistic well-being and quality of life with evidence-based methods, responsibility, tradition and renewal. Grants can be awarded to projects falling under any related branch of science. The board of Rehabilitation Foundation Peurunka decides the total amount of grant funding every year, and the decisions on who the grants will be awarded to will be made in a board meeting at the beginning of the year. In 2024, a total of €10,000 shall be available for grants. The sum to be granted to an individual project may vary based on the applications. The grant will be paid to the applicant in one instalment during the year that it was awarded. The Foundation reports the grants to the tax authorities annually.

Applications shall be sent by email to tutkimustoiminta@peurunka.fi; applications received after the application deadline will not be considered. A confirmation email will be sent to the applicant within three days of receipt of the application. Information on the studies that were awarded the grants, as well as the results of these studies, will be reported on the website of Rehabilitation Foundation Peurunka. Grant recipients must submit the research results to the Foundation within three months of the completion of the funded study (thesis, dissertation, research project). Whenever possible, the results should also be communicated at a Peurunka staff meeting and/or customer event. The grant application should include the following: 1) in case of a doctoral thesis, a copy of a document proving your right to study 2) CV 3) a research plan that is a maximum of 5 pages long and includes: - background (relevance of the study, what is already known) - goals (aim of the study, research question) - materials and research methods (data, methods, ethical considerations) - resources (funding, schedule, what stage is the study at) - results (expected results and their scientific/societal relevance, application of results, impact, publication of results)
