Project grants are used to organise art projects and cultural events that increase the participation of residents and to support cultural well-being projects in Espoo. Application groups: Local culture grants - The grants are intended for cultural operators, communities, work groups and private persons. - To implement cultural events and other artistic and cultural projects, as well as to implement free cultural events that increase the participation of Espoo residents of the municipality and projects of regional cultural work. Development grants - The grants are intended for professional art and cultural institutions and operators in creative fields in Espoo. - To develop new operating models within the art and cultural organisation or in collaboration between operators in the field. The grant can also be used as project funding when applying for multi-annual EU grants. Cultural well-being grants - The grants are intended for cultural operators, communities, work groups and private persons. - To implement community projects that promote the well-being of participants using art and culture methods. Priority will be given to projects employing professional artists. The grant can also be applied for starting and trying out artistic activities. Projects must be implemented in Espoo. It is considered an advantage if the applicant’s objective is to establish the operating model in Espoo.

Project grants 2022 can be applied for from 7 February, 2022 to 31 August 2022 until 15:45. If the last day of the application period falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the application period will end on the weekday following the weekend at 15:45. Project grants should primarily be applied for through the online service. The application form (pdf) can be obtained on request at kulttuuriavustukset@espoo.fi. Grant applications are to be submitted by the deadline to the City of Espoo Registry Office at P.O. Box 1, 02070 City of Espoo, or electronically at kirjaamo@espoo.fi. If necessary, secure e-mails can be sent to this address using the securemail.espoo.fi service. A form submitted through the online service will not be delivered to the Registry Office.  The Culture Committee will decide on project grants at its meetings from March to September.  The Culture Committee has delegated decision-making power for project grants to the Cultural Director for grants of up to €3,000.
