Biocenter Finland

Description of the granted funding

Biocenter Finland (BF, www.biocenter.fi) was founded in 2007 by the six universities hosting the five biocenters of Finland (University of Eastern Finland, University of Helsinki, Oulu University, Tampere University, University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University). BF is firmly rooted in the profiles of its host universities and implements their research strategies. BF was selected to the Finnish Research Infrastructure (FIRI) Roadmap 2014-2020 with outstanding rating. BF supports research excellence by nation-wide coordination of state-of-the-art research infrastructures for cutting-edge science, collaboration, training, internationalization of faculty and delivery of impact on society. BF's fifteen technology platforms operate on an open access principle in the biocenters serving the majority of the Finnish life scientists, many of which have delivered break-throughs in research and innovation.
