Cell-Repellent Superhydrophobic Surfaces
Description of the granted funding
Superhydrophobic surfaces do not get wet. Instead, water droplets do not adhere and roll-off such surfaces. This is because of a protective gas layer. The question addressed in this project is if this gas layer can also repel cells. We are interested in this question in order to develop cell-repellent surfaces for biomedical devices and equipment.
