PET Imaging of Translocator Protein in Head and Neck Cancer

Description of the granted funding

The translocator protein (TSPO) regulatory mechanisms may have a significant role in the response to cancer treatment. Positron emission tomography (PET) is a non-invasive imaging method that enables quantitative imaging of physiological processes. By utilizing a new, fluorine-18 labeled TSPO/PET tracer, it is possible to receive clinically important information about the role of TSPO in cancer, which furthermore can be of use in developing new TSPO targeting drugs.
