Persuasive digital health interventions: Software features as key predictors for successful prevention and treatment of overweight, obesity, metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular diseases
Description of the granted funding
Use of modern information and communication technologies in everyday lives have opened up a wide variety of opportunities for influencing people's behaviors. Fostering healthier lifestyles through the web and mobile applications has become a key area for health improvement. This is enabled because information systems maintain powers to motivate users to set goals and encourage to adopt a desirable target behavior. Positive user experiences and proper level of engagement are keys for success. Digital health interventions have already become quite common and promising health outcomes results have been achieved, but it still remains open what really works in these interventions, for whom, when, how and ultimately why. We will to study and explain these software features. The main application domain in this project is health, more specifically prevention and treatment of overweight, obesity, metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular diseases through persuasive digital health interventions.
