Reliable knowledge for health care: process and practice of shared decision making
Description of the granted funding
The project produces information for decision-making and develop its practices, information literacy and patient involvement in healthcare. Economic information is integrated in clinical practice guidelines to support cost-effective care. We examine the use of threshold value in societal decision-making. The Choosing Wisely recommendations compile evidence of low-value care. To support their de-implementation, we develop tools for healthcare units and care decisions. We examine information literacy and interaction in care practice decisions between professionals and in individual patient care decisions. For patient participation we develop and produce a digital tool based on the needs of patients and professionals. The service enables patients to communicate their preferences and experiences of care to professionals for shared decision-making.
