Power of Growth - Utilisation and commercialisation of a digitalized program in early childhood education to decrease children's disruptive behavior
Description of the granted funding
The Power of Growth project introduces a novel digital intervention to early childhood education, combining virtual technology with remote team coaching. The goal of the intervention is to decrease children's behavioral problems by providing early childhood education personnel tools for positive guidance and harmonizing practices within teams. Early prevention of behavioral problems reduces adverse effects on the individual and society occurring later in life. Targeting the intervention at early childhood education is necessary because, in addition to the family, early childhood education is a central growth environment for the child. The project is a collaboration between the Research Center for Child Psychiatry at University of Turku and early childhood education units. The project utilizes co-creation methods and assesses the efficacy and commercialization of the intervention. The advantage of digital intervention is cost-effectiveness and the reduction of regional inequality.
