Novel CMR Techniques in Heart Disease Diagnosis & Cardiovascular Impact of Sleep Apnea

Description of the granted funding

We study innovative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques to enhance the diagnosis of heart diseases and gain insights into how sleep apnea impacts cardiovascular health. Sleep apnea is a condition where the body stops breathing several times per hour during sleep, and it has a negative impact on health. Our study explores novel methods for detecting cardiac fibrosis, evaluates heart function, and assesses blood flow patterns within the heart and aorta. Additionally, we're at the forefront of developing advanced approaches to diagnose sleep apnea that go beyond the standard metrics. Our ultimate goal is to improve the precision of diagnoses, reduce healthcare costs, and enable earlier interventions.
