Battery-less Sustainable Printed IoT Nodes (BL-SPIN)

Description of the granted funding

This project proposes novel battery-less IoT (internet-of-things) sensor devices employing ultra-low-power electronic chips printed using a state-of-the-art and ultra-low-cost Pragmatic semiconductor fabrication process which is 100 times more environment-friendly and 40 times faster than conventional Silicon-chip process. The harvesters are printed to harness the energy from the ambiance to power the smart devices. Printed sensors collect and send valuable data to the cloud wirelessly using printed antennas. Sustainable printing materials will replace the hazardous materials of batteries. The battery-less and disposable IoT system will be printed to have several battery-less smart IoT sensor nodes powered by green energy harvested from the ambiance of the application and sending data to the cloud wirelessly.
