Consent Spectrum: The Many Facets of Consent (C-SPECT, 2024–2028)

C-SPECT unravels the dynamics of sexual consent in Finland. It explores consent across historical, cultural, and social contexts, examining the complexity of affirmative consent in real-life experiences. Through co-research, it actively engages participants, fostering collaboration and integrating local perspectives. This interdisciplinary project contributes to cutting-edge research in culture, gender, media, law, and politics. Departing from traditional law-focused approaches, C-SPECT embraces social sciences, exploring vulnerability and inequalities, with a focus on intersectional issues. C-SPECT adopts a multi-disciplinary approach, combining systematic and participatory methods. It sees sexual consent as embedded in social structures and cultural practices, introducing innovative approaches and challenging dichotomous standards. C-SPECT offers fresh insights into the evolving meanings of consent, contributing to the discourse on sexual autonomy and relational dynamics.
