The overall objective of the international FESTiVAL project is to improve aquatic ecosystem service (ES) delivery in Central and Northern European forests. Our specific aims are to promote a new conceptual model of ES delivery that better supports multiple societal demands on the forest landscape, produce beyond state-of-the-art catchment-scale water quality models to support stakeholder decision making and to communicate our findings to the forestry sector, national and European decision makers and the scientific community.
