Becomings: Temporalities, Solidarities and Social Class in Antiracism
Description of the granted funding
The project examines antiracist mobilisations from the perspective of temporality and solidarity. In current societies, power relations related to ethnicity, racialisation, social class, and gender divide people from each other and create difficulties for living together. The project investigates coalitional politics and community-building practices in the Nordic welfare state context, as its caring functions are eroded and struggles over economic survival intensify. The three sub-projects focus on antiracism communication in marginalised urban areas, generations of antiracism, and queer exile community-building. The research methods include: ethnography, participatory methods, interviews and visual methods.
