Description of the granted funding
Our project leverages EuroHPC to enhance proteomics data analysis using advanced AI techniques. The project is a joint effort between Universities of Turku and Colorado, ELIXIR Finland, and EMBL-EBI. We will develop an AI-driven HPC framework for mass spectrometry proteomics to enhance interpretation and efficient processing of the large-scale datasets with innovative algorithms and GPU computing, adhering to FAIR data principles and global data standards. We will rigorously assess this framework in both gold-standard and real-world study settings across diverse biological samples to ensure its broad applicability and robustness, focusing on identifying new early disease biomarkers. Besides advancing scientific understanding, we aim to improve competences in high-performance computing, international data interoperability, and reuse of publicly available proteomics data, thereby providing added value to the scientific community and supporting the digital transition in biomedicine.
