Description of the granted funding

Current turbulence models fall short of reflecting real-world measurements. This prevents progress in understanding, for example, why the activity periods of the Sun follow remarkable cyclicity despite emerging from an immensely chaotic process. The goal of this work is to develop a simulation framework for accelerating grid-based computations on supercomputers and use it to drive simulations of electrically conducting fluids at extremely high resolutions, which is necessary for improving models of small-scale turbulence.
