Advancing and utilizing flood risk and impact mapping for flood mitigation: Case studies in data-scarce regions
Description of the granted funding
Flooding ranks as the most significant of many natural hazards, with its impacts increasing globally due to climate change. Despite global efforts (e.g. Sendai Framework and IPCC) in flood mitigation, non-structural methods like risk and impact mapping using open-source data are still challenging in low- and middle-income countries. This four-year doctoral research explores, utilizes, and advances the potential of flood risk and impact mapping to advance flood mitigation in data scarce regions.
