Intergenerational learning and inclusion of young people in collaborative environmental governance

Description of the granted funding

The main aim of the VIZAZI project is to bring understanding of how intergenerational learning facilitates connectedness between generations in collaborative environmental governance. Young people have taken an active role in environmental governance. However, they have limited access to decision making. These circumstances, in turn, cause them frustration at various levels of environmental governance. VIZAZI's main research question is: Can intergenerational learning foster young people´s inclusion in collaborative environmental governance, and how? The knowledge co-creation process aims to develop a novel VIZAZI model based on co-research with young people experiencing real-time environmental governance activities. VIZAZI project has two case studies located in UNESCO Biosphere (M&B) reserves in Finland and Tanzania.
