Human-AI Shared Regulation of Learning: Preparing Higher Education Students to Learn and Work with AI (HAI-Learning)

Description of the granted funding

This project, HAI-Learning, investigates the emerging phenomenon of human-AI shared regulation of learning. It develops design theories to inform evidence-based EdTech solutions that enhance learners' regulatory skills for learning with AI. By integrating perspectives from learning sciences, information systems, and AI research, the project will advance understanding of regulatory processes within AI-integrated learning environments and design innovative solutions to equip learners for the AI-driven future. Using a multimethodological approach combining multimodal learning analytics and design science research, the study will lay the groundwork for advancing theory building and empirical testing in learning regulation research. The findings will provide guidance for educational technologists and developers in designing impactful EdTech solutions fostering regulation in AI-enhanced learning contexts while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
